Teaching
Teaching of North American Studies at the University of Bayreuth aims to encourage students’ enthusiasm for the subject by allowing them to learn relevant methods, approaches, and theories in an active research environment. It focuses on the creative aspect of research, that is the contribution of students in current scholarly discussions about culture with their own ideas. Thus, the close relation between research projects and teaching is a central element of our study programs, enabling our students to apply their skills and knowledge to the cultural work in a variety of fields like education, economy, politics or other areas of (inter)cultural life.
For general information about studying American Literature and Culture, please consult our Studies section.
Additionally, you will find a list of all courses in the current semester that explicitly address issues concerning North America on the website of the Bayreuth Institute for American Studies (BIFAS).
